Strange Connections: "Titan vs. Titanic" Coffee Talk

Was the tragedy of the Titanic disaster foretold in a novel years earlier? In 1898 a novel published under the title of "Futility" also under "Wreck of the Titan" told the story of an "unsinkable ocean liner" which hits an iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic on its maiden voyage and sinks to the depths. But that's not where the similarities stop... the size, number of life boats, type of liner, and many other factors match. Is it mere coincidence, or did the author know something more?
