Former Amity Athlete Continues To Shine In College

Junior Allison Barwise of the Boston University women’s track & field team was named the America East Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Barwise set a conference-best mark and a facility record in the high jump at the Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday with a leap of 1.80 meters. She also finished first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.94 seconds. Her pair of first-place finishes helped lead the Terriers to third place as a team.

The Orange native is in the midst of a strong outdoor campaign after a successful indoor season. She was fifth in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships and was named a USTFCCCA First Team All-American. She also won the Coaches’ Award at the America East Championships in February.
