Gas Prices In Orange Are Falling But, Is It Enough? Here's The Latest Data
Regular gas in Orange is still averaging above the state and national averages, per the latest AAA and EIA data.
ORANGE, CT — Drivers in Orange are paying noticeably less at the pump than they were a month ago, but gasoline prices remain substantially higher than they were a year ago, according to the latest data from AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Connecticut's statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded stood at $4.026 as of June 24, according to AAA. That is down 20 cents from $4.230 a week ago and down 62 cents from $4.648 a month ago. Compared to a year ago, however, when the state average was $3.162, Connecticut drivers are paying about 86 cents more per gallon today.
The state's current average of $4.026 is about 10 cents higher than the national average of $3.928 tracked by AAA as of June 24. The EIA, which releases weekly retail fuel price data, put the national average for regular gasoline at $3.914 per gallon for the week ending June 22. The federal agency's most recent data placed the New England regional average, which includes Connecticut, at $3.952 per gallon for that same period.

Orange falls within the New Haven-Meriden metro area tracked by AAA, which reported a current average of $4.043 for regular unleaded — slightly above the statewide average and about 13 cents higher than the national average tracked by the EIA.
