Gun Left On Public Walking Trail, Leads To Arrest: Orange Police
Police say the accused didn't realize the gun fell out of his pocket and someone else found it.

ORANGE, CT — A man, who was walking on public trails in Orange, ended up dropping his gun and leaving it behind, police said. Police said Eugene Boyko, 77, of Beacon Falls, turned himself into police after learning about a warrant for his arrest.
The warrant was for an incident that occurred on Dec. 12, 2017 when Boyko was walking the trails at the Racebrook Tract, police said. At one point during the visit, Boyko dropped a gun that he was carrying in a shirt pocket along the trail and didn't realize it, police said.
He left the park without his gun and a passerby later found it and turned it over to police, police said. Officers were able to trace the gun back to the owner and he is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
