The Board of Education announced the hiring at a meeting last night.

BETHANY/ORANGE/WOODBRIDGE, CT — Amity's next Superintendent of Schools is Dr. Jennifer Byars who was officially hired by the Board of Education last night.

She has been an assistant schools superintendent in Ledyard. The vote to hire her was unanimous, the New Haven Register reports. She begins on Nov. 15.

“There are a lot of people who don’t like us in Ledyard now,” Paula CoFrancesco, an Amity school board member said, according to the New Haven Register.
