Homeowner Assaulted As Juveniles Try To Steal Car: Orange PD
The car was stolen out of Woodbury and had been connected to violent incidents in Milford and the Valley, police said.
ORANGE, CT — A homeowner was assaulted at a residence on Grassy Hill Road Thursday afternoon and police said they are searching for four juvenile suspects, who fled in a stolen car out of Woodbury.
The car, a black Audi sedan, CT Reg: AA95413, was stolen from Woodbury more than a week ago, and it has been used in multiple violent crimes in Milford and the Valley, police said.
At 1:45 p.m. Thursday, a robbery occurred at a residence on Grassy Hill Road near the Route 15 interchange, police said. The homeowner had a car parked in the garage with the trunk open while he was loading items into it from the house, police said.

When he came out of the house and into the garage, he found a juvenile male inside the garage who was attempting to steal the car, police said. The homeowner confronted the juvenile but was then assaulted from behind by another, unseen male who was waiting in another car, police said.
The two men fled the area and were last seen in Derby getting onto Rt. 8 northbound, police said. The suspects were described as two young males with two more young females who waited in the getaway car, police said.

This incident is being actively investigated by Orange's Investigative Services Unit in cooperation with other departments that have experienced similar crimes.
"While this is a rare incident and crime of opportunity, please remember to be aware of your surroundings at all times and always lock your vehicles," Orange Police said.
