Joan Linsley, 92, of Orange, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026

A woman who never lacked for an opinion, a comeback, or a reason to laugh.

Joan Linsley, 92, of Orange, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late Arthur Linsley, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 9, 1934, to Anthony and Antoinette (Avitable) Pannone, Joan lived a life filled with laughter, love, and an unmistakable spark that stayed with her until the very end.
To know Joan—or "Corky," as her husband affectionately called her—was to know a woman who never lacked for an opinion, a comeback, or a reason to laugh. She was feisty, spirited, and wonderfully quick-witted. Whether she was keeping her family on their toes with a perfectly timed remark, exchanging playful banter with her famously wild son, or breaking into one of her made-up songs and dances, Joan had a gift for bringing joy to those around her. Her sense of humor was unmatched.
Family was the center of Joan's world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She treasured time spent with those she loved and created countless memories that her family will carry with them forever. Her kitchen, living room, and back porch were places where stories were shared, and laughter was abundant. Joan is survived by her children, Anna Jane and Stuart Platcow, Anthony and Donna Linsley, and Joann and David Pugliese; her eight grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her siblings.
Though her family mourns her loss, they find comfort in remembering her strength, humor, resilience, and the countless smiles she brought to their lives. The songs may have been made up, the dances and jigs improvised, and the jokes often a little mischievous, but they were uniquely Joan—and they will never be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road, Orange, Connecticut. Interment will immediately follow at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
The family invites all who knew Joan to remember her not with sadness alone, but with a smile, a laugh, a favorite story, or perhaps even a little dance in her honor.
