Jocelyn Maminta to Emcee Girls' Night Out

The Network of Executive Women (NEW) is thrilled to announce local celebrity Jocelyn Maminta as its special guest emcee for Girls' Night Out

The Network of Executive Women (NEW) is thrilled to announce local celebrity Jocelyn Maminta as its special guest emcee for Girls’ Night Out on October 16, 2014.

“Jocelyn is the whole package. She is professionally accomplished, entrepreneurial, active in the community, and works tirelessly to help families coping with premature birth,” said NEW President, Mary Birarelli. “We are just over the moon that Jocelyn will be with us to celebrate our 35th Anniversary at this year’s Girls’ Night Out.”

Over her distinguished 20-year broadcast career, Emmy Award nominated News 8 Medical reporter Jocelyn Maminta has anchored and reported for televisions stations in North Carolina, Milwaukee, Texas and at News 8 in Connecticut. She serves on the Board of Friends of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, and is a member of the Junior League of Greater New Haven.

Jocelyn is co-founder of Caroline’s Room, a safe haven for families coping with the challenges and uncertainties surrounding the birth of a premature baby. There are Caroline’s Rooms in Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Texas and Virginia. The first Caroline’s Room is at Yale-New-Haven Children’s Hospital and a second is located at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

She is also the CEO of Frangi Pangi, fine hosiery for that bare legged look for women of all color. Made in the USA with profits supporting Caroline’s Room.

About Girls’ Night Out: Girls’ Night Out is the Network of Executive Women’s signature annual fundraising event. Held each autumn, it is attended by over 200 area women for a great night of entertainment, demonstrations, raffles, shopping, tastings, dancing, and much more! This year’s event is on October 16. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships awarded to deserving area women who seek to improve their lives and careers through continuing education. Area vendors wishing to participate are asked to visit the website for information and an application.
