Man Charged With DUI In Orange: Police
Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

ORANGE, CT — A New Haven man is accused of driving while under the influence while in Orange, police said. On Feb. 16, police saw a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on the Boston Post Road.
The vehicle failed to stop for a red light, police said. A motor vehicle stop was made and Officers came into contact with Gerald Beamon, 52, of New Haven, police said. Officers noted a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle, police said.
Beamon was asked to perform Standardized Sobriety Field Tests. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and charged with DUI, and several motor vehicle violations.
