Man Dresses As ICE Agent But He Wasn't: Orange Police

Police say the man admitted to purchasing the clothing on the internet. The man also had weapons inside the vehicle, police said.

ORANGE, CT — A Milford man is accused of impersonating an ICE agent while in Orange, police said. Police said on Jan. 30 officers on patrol saw a vehicle driving at night without any headlights.

Police stopped the vehicle and Scott Gilmore, 37, of Milford, was seen wearing clothing and equipment identifying him as an immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, police said. Police also saw real and fake firearms in the backseat of the vehicle, along with knives and survival/surveillance equipment, police said.

During questioning, Gilmore told police he was a training officer with Homeland Security/ICE, but he later admitted he purchased the identifying equipment and clothing on the internet and was not a law enforcement officer, police said.

He is charged with impersonating an officer, interfering with an officers and possessing weapons in motor vehicle. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
