Man Kept Asking People for Money: Orange Police

Police say the accused had already been banned from the property.

ORANGE, CT — Orange police say a man was charged after asking people for money in a shopping plaza. Officers responded to the parking lot of the shopping plaza at 538 Boston Post Road regarding an unwanted person on March 22, police said.

Officers learned that Michael Marsala, 60, of Seymour, was approaching customers in the parking lot and asking for money, police said. Officers found the subject a short distance away in a different store’s parking lot, asking the people there for money too, police said.

Officers recognized Marsala as someone who had previously been banned from the property for the same actions, police said. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal trespass.
