Man Killed Trying To Retrieve Cell Phone On I-95 In Orange: PD
BREAKING: The man dropped his cell phone out of an open window and tried to cross three lanes of traffic to retrieve it, State Police said.

ORANGE, CT — A California man was struck and killed on Interstate 95 in Orange after he ran across three lanes of traffic in an effort to retrieve his cell phone that he had dropped out of the window of a vehicle he was riding in, State Police said.
State Police said at 2:30 a.m. Monday Troop G responded to a report of a car that struck a pedestrian on I-95 northbound by Exit 41. Responding troopers arrived on scene within minutes and found that a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old New London woman had struck a pedestrian, State Police said.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative, State Police added. The pedestrian was identified as Hoa Ngo, 34, of Sacramento, California, State Police said.

Just prior to the accident, Ngo was traveling with three adult male friends in a pick-up truck towing a boat-trailer on I-95 Northbound when he accidentally dropped his cell phone out of the window, State Police said.
The pick-up truck stopped on the right shoulder and Ngo ran across three lanes of the highway to retrieve his phone. He began to walk back and that is when he was fatally struck while in the left lane, State Police said.

The accident remains under investigation but State Police said there was nothing suspicious found at the scene.
