Man Shoplifted From Dollar Store: Orange Police

Police said the accused stole items from two local businesses.

ORANGE, CT — A New Haven man is accused of shoplifting from the Dollar Tree and Burglington Coat Factory in Orange, police said. On August 11, Orange police officers responded to 80 Boston Post Road, Burlington, for a reported shoplifting, police said.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Charles Jackson, 50, of New Haven, wearing a backpack in the store parking lot, police said. During an investigation of Jackson's backpack, officers determined that he had stolen a pair of shoes from Burlington and various items from the Dollar Tree Store, police said.

He was taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering and possession of burglary tools. He was given a $2,000 bond.
