Man Shoplifts $1K Worth Of Goods From L.L. Bean: Orange PD

Police say the accused made a run for it.

ORANGE, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of goods from L.L. Bean at 560 Boston Post Road, Orange Police say.

On Jan. 5, officers responded to 560 Boston Post Road (L.L. Bean) in reference to a shoplifting. It was discovered that Robert L. Banks, 48, of Bridgeport, stole $1,016 in merchandise and left the store, police said. Officers took him into custody after a brief foot chase, police said.

Subsequently, he was charged with fourth-degree larceny, resisting arrest and illegal possession of a shoplifting device.
