Man Stole Car, Crashes It Into a Park: Orange Police

The accused was held in lieu of bond.

ORANGE, CT — A New Haven man is accused of stealing a car from the ShopRite parking lot in Orange, and crashing the vehicle, police said. Officers learned that Armando Dominguez Rodriguez, 24, of New Haven was in custody of the Hamden Police on an unrelated matter, police said.

He was transferred to the custody of Orange officers, who held a warrant for his arrest, police said. The warrant stemmed from an incident in October of 2017, when Rodriguez stole a car from the parking lot of the ShopRite store on Bull Hill Lane, later crashing it into a park in New Haven, police said. Investigation in that matter led to the issuance of an arrest warrant, and he is charged with first-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace.

He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
