Man Walks In and Out of Traffic in Orange, Ends Up With $5K Bond: Police

Orange police say the accused also tried to flee from officers but was quickly apprehended.

ORANGE, CT — A West Haven man was reportedly walking in and out of traffic in Orange and when police found him they learned he had an open arrest warrant in New Haven, police said.

Police say officers responded to the 200 block of the Boston Post Road in Orange in regard to a person walking in traffic.

Officers found Shawn Powell, 29, of West Haven, there, and he admitted to walking in and out of the roadway, police said.

During the investigation, officers learned that Powell had a warrant with the New Haven Police Department, police said.

Upon learning of the warrant, Powell attempted to flee officers, but he was caught a very short distance away, police said.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged, then turned over to officers from New Haven Police Department, police said.

He is charged with interfering with an officer and released on a $5,o00 bond.
