Meet the New Principal of Turkey Hill
Stephen Bergin brings his administrative skills and education expertise to the position.

As the new principal of , Stephen Bergin is looking forward to integrating himself into the school community.
Bergin is leaving the position of principal of Dunbar Hill School in Hamden for Orange's smaller school district. He was officially appointed to his new position during a special meeting of the Orange Board of Education on June 21. Working in Orange, he said, will offer an environment where people work closely together for the benefit of the students and school.
According to an online statement by Orange Superintendant Lynn McMullin, Bergin was chosen from among 50 applicants.

“He impressed the interview committees with his open and approachable style and his strong reputation for collaboration and involvement in the school community,” the statement reads.
Although leaving Hamden was bittersweet, “I was looking for the next step in my professional growth,” he said. “The biggest challenge I face is making sure the current school I’m in is ready to accept a new principal.”
