Obituary: Matthew J. Califano (Porto Funeral Homes)

Matthew J. “Matt” Califano, 38, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Cassandra “Cassie” Riley Califano, passed away at his home on June 5, 2026. Loving father of Lucia Califano and a daughter expected later this year. Brother of Evan M. (Kirsten) Califano of Colchester. Matthew was born in New Haven on June 11, 1987 son of the late Frank M. Califano and Donna Briganti Cordone of East Haddam. He was the stepson of James Cordone. Matthew is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. At the time of his passing, Matthew was employed as an engineer with Metro-North Railroad.
