Open House at Therapeutic Recreation Center

Joining forces together, Directors Chris Patella (Animal Assisted Therapy Services) and Beth Patella (Beth Patella Center for Music) have created a new entity, The Therapeutic Recreation Center located in Woodbridge, CT! There will be an Open House on Sunday, June 2nd, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The Center is located at 19 Hazel Terrace in Woodbridge - Selden Plaza, above Amity Bike. It is easily accessible off Exit 59 of the Merrit Parkway or via Routes 69/63. The Therapeutic Recreation Center brings together outstanding therapeutic and holistic professionals to offer educationally sound programs for children, adults, and individuals with challenges. Programs offered this summer include: early childhood music, music for children and adults with challenges, therapeutic drumming, yoga, therapy dog training/certification courses, canine assisted literacy programs, the 'Art of Movement' dance, and fine arts including jewelry, drawing and painting. Demonstration classes will be available throughout the day on June 2. Experience our outstanding early childhood music program, meet our therapy dogs, relax with yoga, learn a bit about jewelry making, or thrill to the sound of a drumming circle. Meet staff professionals Chris Patella, Beth Patella, Jeanette Diaz, Lydia Smith, and Paula Deutz. The complete schedule of events for the day, and suggested ages for specific demonstration classes, are available on our affiliated website, www.animalassistedtherapyservices.org. Summer program registration has begun! The complete summer class schedule can also be found on www.animalassistedtherapyservices.org. Click on the tab more, and you will see Therapeutic Recreation Center. The Therapeutic Recreation Center is located just 4 miles from Turning Point Farm. As part of Therapeutic Recreation Center services, Animal Assisted Therapy Services (AaTs) directs the Therapeutic Riding program for children and adults at the farm.
