Orange 2015 Election Guide: The Candidates, Polling Places, Sample Ballot

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3 and we share with you some of the information you'll need to know.

For the past 10 years it’s been James Zeoli leading the town of Orange.

The popular Republican first selectman is seeking a sixth-term, and for the second straight election his opponent is Ken Lenz, a local attorney and Democratic Board of Selectmen member.

Zeoli says residents are pleased with his results including sound financial management, the town’s robust triple A bond rating, and very low 3 percent vacancy rate on more than 6 million square-feet of commercial, industrial, and retail space in town, the New Haven Register reports.

But Lenz counters that Orange isn’t moving forward and affordable senior housing is sorely lacking in town, the Register reports. Lenz said he’d like the town to serve as the landlord and have a non-profit manage a senior housing development in Orange, the Register reports.

Lenz says not enough has been done for the development of Fred Wolfe Park, and more development is needed south of Route 1.

Zeoli said he’d like see a privately owned affordable senior housing constructed in town.
