Orange Country Fair Offers Old-Fashioned Family Entertainment this Weekend

The fair will have entertainment, exhibits and of course food.

The Orange Country Fair kicks off this evening at 6 p.m. with free entry for the first day of the fair.

The fair will be held at the Orange Fairgrounds located at 525 Orange Center Road. The first evening of the fair will feature an “All Mighty Truck Pull”. Produce and livestock will be on display, the event will also have a museum of antique farm equipment.

On Saturday, the fair hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets for adults are $8, $5 for senior citizens and children 15 and under get in for free. Fairgoers can start their day on Saturday with Chip’s pancake breakfast followed by a range of events including pork chop pig racing, a homing pigeon release and a tractor pull. Sunday is the last day of the fair, gates open at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. will mark the end of the fair.

“We actually try to keep it to more of an old-fashioned country fair. We want to keep it a family-oriented event,” Karen McCausland, co-chairwoman of the fair, told the New Haven Register. “We try to keep the commercialism out as much as possible, Orange was a true agricultural town.”
