The state medical board has reprimanded a Monroe doctor for involvement in an insurance fraud scheme.

The Medical Examining Board determined that Dr. James W. Marshall Jr., 60, of Orange, will have his medical license placed on probation for six months if he registers to write controlled substances prescriptions, the Danbury News-Times reported.

Marshall voluntarily gave up his registration in 2011 after being implicated in a 14-month FBI undercover investigation into auto insurance fraud.
