Orange Man Charged With Assault, Threatening: Police

The accused was initially held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

ORANGE, CT — An Orange resident is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond after police were called to a local residence on Friday, police said. At 8:32 a.m. Friday, Officers responded to an Avalon Drive West residence on a report of a dispute, police said.

Officers’ investigation revealed that Michael J. Cooper, 48, of Orange, had a verbal altercation with another individual which turned into a physical altercation, police said. He also interrupted a police call and stole a credit card during the incident, police said.

Subsequently, he was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, interfering with an emergency call, and credit card theft.
