Orange Man Pleads Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity in Mother's Death
The case has been continued for six weeks so the prosecutor can examine the defendant's medical records.

Timothy D. Granata, 23, of Orange, entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity during his brief court appearance Monday, the New Haven Register reports.
Granata is currently on trial and accused of fatally beating his mother, Claudia Dinan Granata, 58, on July 24, 2014 in their Orange home.
Granata’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 10, according to the Register. He also elected to choose a three-judge panel instead of a jury trial, the Register reports.
