Orange PD Phone Number Being Spoofed In New Scam

ORANGE, CT — Scammers are now spoofing the Orange police phone number in an attempt to swindle people.

"We've been made aware of a spoofing scam where our phone number is being cloned and callers are trying to convince people that they have an arrest warrant with Orange Police," police posted on Facebook. "We will never offer to vacate a warrant if you pay us a fee with retail gift cards!"

People can call the department directly at 203-891-2130 if they question the validity of a call.
