Orange Police Department Represented in CT United Ride

Two Orange Police motorcycles were in the annual 9-11 commemorative ride on Sunday.

Anyone who attended the American Legion 9-11 Memorial Ceremony on Sunday may have noticed that one town official was missing from the crowd.

Asst. Police Chief Edward Koether, along with Sgt. Ray LaPlante was representing the Orange Police Department in the annual CT United Ride involving thousands of motorcyclists from across the state, commemorating the heroes of Sept. 11.

The sea of motorcycles traveled from Norwalk to Bridgeport on a beautiful morning much like that day ten years ago.

According to the CT United Ride website, the riders commemorated "those who gave their lives, and those who continue to put their lives on the line each day as a result of the tragedies occurring on 9/11."

They also raised money for two area chapters of the United Way and for emergency relief funds helping families of  Connecticut police officers and firefighters.
