Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Serious Accident: Orange Police
Police released new details about the serious accident that occurred Wednesday morning.

ORANGE, CT — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after being involved in an accident with an SUV early Wednesday morning, police said. At 7:23 a.m. Orange Police were notified of a motor vehicle crash with serious injuries on Derby Avenue (Rt. 34) near the intersection of Orange Center Road (Rt. 152), police said.
On arrival officers found the crash involved a Sport Utility vehicle and a motorcycle, with the motorcyclist suffering significant injuries including a life-threatening head injury, police said. The motorcyclist was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is currently listed as critical, police said. He is a 67 year-old male whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members, police said. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.
Preliminary information shows that the operator of the SUV changed lanes and the motorcycle then made contact with the rear of the SUV, police said. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with this investigation, police said.
