Orange Police Offer Safe 'Meetup Spot' For Internet Transactions

Police say they offer a safe place to complete an online transaction.

With the holiday season already upon us, many people will look to websites like Craigslist, LetGo, or Facebook to buy/sell things.

While these sites are a great way to save money or even make a little, one of the more challenging aspects is meeting a stranger somewhere to complete a transaction.

Now, you can do that right at police headquarters, in a safe, secure environment, with the added benefit of being recorded on video.

Just come to police headquarters at 314 Lambert Road. At the end of the driveway, on the right, the very first parking space is marked with a permanent sign designating it as the the 'Meetup Spot' for internet transactions.

If you are conducting one of these transactions and anything about the exchange does not feel right to you, there are police officers inside the headquarters building to help you.
