Orange Police Officer Earns Promotion

He was a Youth/DARE Officer and an SRO prior to his most recent assignment as a Detective in the Investigative Services Unit.

A ceremony was held at Orange PD headquarters on the afternoon of Thursday, May 30, 2019, to promote Detective Sean Murphy to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Murphy joined the Orange Police Department in 2005 and was initially assigned to the patrol division. He was a Youth/DARE Officer and a SRO prior to his most recent assignment as a Detective in the Investigative Services Unit. He has also been a Field Training Officer, a Citizen's Academy Instructor, and a member of the Bicycle Unit.

Sergeant Murphy had his badge pinned on by his father Patrick (Retired Connecticut State Police), his son Brandon, and his nephew Nicholas. He was sworn in by the Chairman of the Police Commission John Barton.
