Orange Public Schools Calendar 2015-16

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Orange Public School System.

First day of school: August 31

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Professional Development (minimum day): Oct. 9

Columbus Day (school closed: October 12

November 3 (school closed for students): Staff development

November 25 (minimum day)

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Parent Conferences (minimum days): Dec. 1, 2, 3

Winter break (minimum day): Dec. 23

Winter break: Dec. 24-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Professional Development (minimum day): Jan. 27

Professional Development (minimum day): Feb. 12

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 15, Feb. 16

Professional Development (no school students): March 24

Good Friday (school closed) March 25

Professional Development (minimum day): April 6

Spring Break: April 18-22

Professional Development (minimum day): May 18

Memorial Day (school closed): May 30

Last day of school: June 13

Note: Days can be added up until June 24 depending on cancellations.
