Orange Republicans Approve Slate Of Candidates Led by First Selectman James Zeoli

Zeoli is seeking a seventh-term of office this fall.

ORANGE, CT — Incumbent GOP First Selectman James Zeoli was nominated for another term by the Republican Town Committee on Wednesday night. Zeoli was nominated by former First Select Woman Dorothy Berger and seconded by Marine veteran Richard Cenami. Jim was nominated unanimously by the caucus, party officials said.

During his acceptance remarks Zeoli spoke about his Republican Team, "those dedicated and talented people who run Orange from behind the scenes and on our boards and commissions," party officials said in a statement. "Working with the First Selectman, these are the people responsible for the efficient running of our town government, the maintaining and improving of our excellent schools, achieving our AAA bond rating, and keeping control of taxes. "

"Important plans are moving forward to improve safety with the paving of our school parking areas and the renovation of the High Plains Community Center which will begin in the fall," Orange GOP leaders said in a statement. "We are fielding a strong group of experienced incumbents along with highly qualitfed new candidates. Those include Kevin Cornell for the Town Planning and Zoning Commission and Shannon Carlson for the Amity Board of Education."
