Orange Woman Stole Purse, Used Credit Card: Shelton PD

SHELTON, CT — Detectives arrested a suspected purse thief after he photo was made public, according to police.

A victim reported her purse stolen at Shop Rite May 8. She immediately called her bank to cancel her card and learned it was used at TJ Maxx on Bridgeport Avenue, said Detective Richard Bango, police spokesman.

Police obtained video surveillance of the suspect and released a photo to the public. Detectives then got a tip about the suspect and her vehicle. Denise Purciello, 59, of Orange was arrested July 26 and charged with fourth-degree larceny and theft of a credit card.

She was held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
