Pay Attention! Changes In Store for 2012 BOW Relay
The tri-town Relay For Life is only about 8 weeks away, it's time to get busy.
There are many changes with the BOW Relay For Life this year. The introductory organizational meeting took place at the Orange Ale House on Nov. 22. Since, due to some minor issues, not much has happened, so it's time to really kick it into gear.
With only about 8 weeks before the event, now is the time to get really busy.
Scheduling conflicts made it necessary to change the weekend on which the event would take place, instead of the first week in May, the Relay will be held on April 27 and 28.
If you're looking at your calendar, you will see that instead of being held on a Saturday and Sunday, the 2012 event takes place on Friday and Saturday at the tail end of school vacation.
At the meeting co-chairman Lynn Plaskowitz said that the change is significant and the committee is hoping that it works well, but "If you don't like it, let the committee know."
Plaskowitz said it is not a lot of work to be on a team, everyone gets along and there are many different things that people can sign up for.
This year's Relay schedule is as follows:
