Police recently arrested two Shelton residents in separate incidents.

A SHELTON WOMAN was arrested after police stopped her on Route 34 eastbound for driving without her headlights on, Feb. 6 at 12:53 a.m.

During the stop, officers administered roadside sobriety tests to Doreen Belco, 45, of 43 Ridgefield Terrace, who was found to be intoxicated.

She was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive in a proper lane, failure to illuminate headlights and assault on a peace officer.

According to the report, Belco was accused of spitting on the officer during the booking process, for which the assault charge was added.

Belco was released on $5,000 bond for court Feb. 6.

POLICE WERE dispatched to the CVS pharmacy, on the Boston Post Road, Feb. 4, at 6:33 p.m., regarding a fraudulent prescription.

When officers arrived, they learned that Timothy Bagley, 45, of 45 Pawtucket Ave., Shelton, had submitted a prescription for a narcotic substance to be filled.

When pharmacy staff attempted to confirm the order with the doctor listed on the prescription, they learned that it was not a valid prescription, and the doctor did not write it.

Bagley was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

He was released on $5,000 bond for court Feb. 14.
