Resident Confronted With Loaded Revolver by Man Wanting to Buy Marijuana: Police

The resident of the home did not know the man.

WEST HAVEN, CT - A New Haven man is facing charges after police say he went to a West Haven home and confronted the resident with a loaded revolver.

Police responded to the area of 400 Third Avenue in West Haven around 7:15 p.m. after receiving numerous reports of a fight in the area. When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as 25-year-old Sean Walton, being held to the ground by several other men.

Police found a revolver lying next to Walton. According to police, residents at the home were able to disarm Walton. The residents said they did not know Walton and had no previous problems with him.

Walton told police he went to the home to purchase marijuana. Police seized the revolver, which had its serial number filed off, and contained five rounds.

Walton was charged with breach of peace, altering a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held on a $75,000.
