Residents Come Out in Memory of Beloved Custodian

About 50 people attended a fund-raising brunch on Sunday to remember the late Vin Ricca.

Vinny Ricca was a beloved member of the Mary L. Tracy family. 

As a custodian he was known by children and administrators alike.

He died on May 10, 2010, leaving a void at the school.Last Sunday members of the custodian's union AFSCME Local 1303-22 hosted a fund-raising brunch at the Milford Elks Club.

Money raised goes toward the purchase of a memorial bench that will be placed in the courtyard of Mary L. Tracy School later this spring, along with two garden statues (one of a boy, the other of a girl) on either side of it.

Bargaining unit president Ron Gambardella said the bench will be a nice way for everyone to remember Vinny and his dedication to the school.

"Thank you everyone for coming out on Sunday," he said.
