Superintendent Announces Retirement (with video)

Orange School Superintendent Tim James submitted his resignation at the Board of Education meeting on March 14.

During the March 14 Orange Board of Education meeting Supt. Tim James announced his intentions to retire.

Board member Jody Dietch said, "It has been a pleasure and honor to work with you over the last four years I have been on the BOE."

She added that as superintendent, he has many accomplishments in Orange to be proud of and one of the biggest is the steady increase in CMT scores.

James smiled and joked, "My wife says I can't retire unless I have a hobby. I haven't had a hobby except for working 14 to 16 hours a day."

The Board accepted his resignation "with regrets."

Board Chairman Jeanne Consiglio said that being board chairman is not easy but having James to turn to helped a lot.

James nodded in appreciation. He said he will continue working in Orange until December 31.
