Woman Charged With DUI: Orange Police

Police say an officer saw the accused driving at a high rate of speed.

ORANGE, CT — A Middletown woman is accused of driving while under the influence while in Orange, police said.

On Jan. 11, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and quickly switching lanes on the Boston Post Road, police said. A motor vehicle stop was made and officers came into contact with Vanessa M. Martinez, 27, of Middletown, police said.

There was an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle, police said. Martinez was asked to perform Standardized Sobriety Field Tests. Subsequently, she was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
