Woman Parks Car on Orange Resident's Lawn, Sleeps There: Orange Police
Orange police said the woman thought she had a friend who lived at the house.

ORANGE, CT — Police say they found a vehicle parked on a private lawn in Orange and the driver was fast asleep.
The driver, Shawnita Barrow, of West Spring Street in West Haven, told Orange police that she thought she had a friend who lived at the house which is why she placed her car on the lawn and slept there, police said.
Officers responded to a private residence on Spring Street regarding a vehicle parked on the resident’s front lawn earlier this month, police said. Officers observed a vehicle on the lawn with a person asleep in the driver’s seat, police said.

Upon waking the driver, Barrow stated that she slept in her car on the lawn because she did not want to go home the night prior, and she thought a friend lived at the address, police said.
Officers found a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle, which was seized, police said. She was cited for her actions including possession of marijuana less than half ounce.
