Woman Punched/Slapped Driver Which Led to Accident: Orange PD

The car ended up crashing into a telephone pole, police said.

ORANGE, CT — A Derby woman is accused of hitting a driver, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and crash into a telephone pole, police said. Police said Kyla Rochford, 37, of Derby was a passenger in a car on April 7 that was driving along Route 34.

She got into an argument with the driver of the vehicle, and slapped/punched him in the face while he was driving, police said. This caused him to lose control of the vehicle, go off the roadway, and hit a telephone pole, police said. Investigation of the incident led to the issuance of an arrest warrant, and Rochford is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
