180 Lbs. of Copper Stolen From Roof at Oxford Business
Copper coils taken from air conditioning units at Zackin Publications.

Someone gained access to a building in the Oxford Industrial Park and stole about 180 pounds worth of copper wire recently, according to a police report.
Oxford police are searching for someone who stole copper condenser and evaporator coils from three commercial heating and air conditioning roof units sometime last week from the roof of the Zackin Publications building at 100 Willenbrock Road, police said.
Each unit contains about 60 pounds of copper coils, the report states. As of Thursday, copper was trading at $3.93 per pound and is rising, according to CNN Money. That means, if a thief were to sell all 180 pounds of the copper at that price, he or she would make $707. (Note: A scrap yard would likely offer less than the going rate, as our readers pointed out.)
