$18K in Goods Stolen from Business in Oxford

Police investigate two recent thefts.

Police are investigating two thefts that happened within the past week in Oxford.

The owner of Alex Horse Transportation, LLC, of Southbury, reported that someone stole $18,000 worth of its horse transportation equipment from Christian Street in the industrial park, according to a police report. The items taken were seven automobile batteries and 14 aluminum posts from four trailer horse transporters, the report states. It was the third time scrap metal thieves struck in Oxford in recent weeks. Police are still investigating the Christian Street theft.

And a log splitter was stolen from the top of a driveway at Freeman Road, according to a police report.
