4-Year Renewable Scholarship Application Deadline April 6, 2026
2026 Rowland R. Strong and Edith H. Strong Memorial Scholarship
The deadline for submission of the 2026 application for the 4-year renewable Roland R. Strong and Edith H. Strong Memorial Scholarship is Monday, April 6, 2026, either postmarked or delivered in person to the office of the Valley Community Foundation in Derby, CT. NOTE: Due to changes in the USPS system, mailed items will NO LONGER be postmarked at the local post office but rather at another USPS processing facility, which means that scholarship applications should be mailed at least a week prior to the April 6, 2026 deadline!!!
The application can be accessed via the Town of Oxford website at www.oxford-ct.gov. Also visit your high school’s website or your school guidance department office for a hard copy. All application packets must be postmarked or hand-delivered before 5 pm by Monday, April 6, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered!

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA to Apply:
- MUST be a resident of Oxford, CT (does NOT matter what high school they attend!)
- MUST be graduating from high school in Spring 2026
- MUST demonstrate financial need
- MUST be planning to attend an accredited 4-year college/university full time starting in Fall 2026
- MUST have a minimum GPA of 2.5
Documents Required with Application:

- MUST include a Personal Essay
- MUST include valid current Transcript
- MUST include a Letter of Recommendation
- MUST include the FULL Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA that INCLUDES the Student Aid Index (SAI) (formerly the EFC)
All Oxford residents who will graduate high school in 2026 are encouraged to apply.
