ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP
FOR KIDS WITH LEARNING CHALLENGES
A hands-on workshop combining assistive technology with specific learning strategies to help middle- or high-school students work more independently. You will receive direct instruction in the most highly recommended AT programs: Read&Write Gold by textHELP Systems for struggling readers and writers, and speech-to-text software Dragon Naturally-Speaking Premium or Professional (for PC) or Dragon Dictate for Mac. You will also learn to use some select iPad apps.*
You will need to bring: A laptop computer with a download of the 30-day free trial of Read&Write Gold for PC or Mac, available at www.texthelp.com. To participate fully, we recommend that you purchase and install Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium or Professional 12 for PC or Dragon Dictate 3.0 for Mac at Amazon.com (the PC version is recommended for ease of correction) or Dragon Dictate 4.0 for Mac at the Dragon Naturally Speaking website. Check the hardware requirements before purchase.
Special Offer: TextHELP.com will make Read&Write Gold available to participants for $295 – a 54% reduction from the retail price of $645.
*Bring your iPad and download Voice Dream Reader. If your iPad does not have voice dictation, download the Dragon Dictation app.
In addition to her nationally recognized work as an educational consultant and AT expert, Shelley Lacey-Castelot is a reading specialist and language arts consultant.
