Accident Closes Two Lanes of I-84 in Southbury

A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 closed two lanes of traffic around 8 a.m. this morning and will cause delays for at least the next several hours according to State Police.

The accident occurred on the eastbound side of the highway near exit 15 in Southbury and involved a van and a tractor trailer. The occupants of the two vehicles sustained only minor injuries according to police.

Connecticut State Trooper Kick said one lane has been cleared but the left lane is "still shut up." He said it will remain closed for the next several hours while crews work to clear debris.
