OXFORD, CT — Two Oxford EMS members were honored this week for their work in emergency medical services, according to a post from Oxford EMS.
Oxford EMS said Training Director Keri McDermott and EMS member Breanna Toomey were recognized Wednesday by UConn Health Waterbury Hospital for their contributions to EMS.
McDermott was presented with EMS Educator of the Year, while Toomey was honored as Tele-Communicator of the Year, according to Oxford EMS.
The awards recognized their dedication, hard work and impact within the EMS community, Oxford EMS said.
Oxford EMS also received a Unit Citation for the team’s response to a bus accident in a neighboring town.
The agency said the citation recognized the professionalism, teamwork and commitment shown by members who provided care and support when another community needed assistance.
The recognition came during EMS Week.
