OXFORD, CT — Swimming will be off-limits at Jackson Cove this week because no lifeguards will be on duty.
Oxford Parks and Recreation posted an alert saying swimming will not be permitted from Monday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 4.
The restriction applies even when the park is open. Oxford requires a lifeguard to be present before anyone may enter the designated swimming area.
The town has not announced any swimming restrictions for the weekend following Sept. 4.
Updates are available on the town's Jackson Cove page. Residents may also contact Oxford Parks and Recreation at 203-828-6505 or 203-828-6506.
