OXFORD, CT — Construction is underway on a Quarry Walk expansion that will add 65 apartments and more than 15,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, according to the development's Building P project update.
The building will include one-bedroom and junior one-bedroom apartments, garage parking and pedestrian improvements. Completion is expected in summer 2027, according to Quarry Walk.
The expansion comes as Oxford examines the effects of development on traffic and infrastructure. As Patch previously reported, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a nine-month pause on certain development applications in August.
At the Aug. 11 public hearing, Commissioner Linda Czaplinski specifically clarified that the Quarry Walk proposal involved 65 total apartment/workforce units, according to the minutes.

Commission Chairman Daniel Wall described traffic as a central concern during the broader discussion.
"The biggest concern is Route 67, honestly," Wall said, according to the minutes.
Resident Kate McKinney said commercial and industrial development had affected her neighborhood and questioned which applications the pause would cover. Resident Jim Locke asked whether another traffic study would be conducted and how it would be paid for.
The commission approved the pause 5-1, with Sara Locke opposed. That hearing concerned the townwide moratorium; those comments were not recorded as testimony on a Building P approval.
For visitors to Quarry Walk, the developer says shops and restaurants remain accessible during the work.
"Construction is underway, but Quarry Walk remains fully open," the project update states. Quarry Walk says additional parking and directional signs are available.
