The Oxford Parks and Recreation Commission and The Seymour Fish and Game Club will once again be co-hosting the annual children’s Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, May 16th at Kirk’s Pond on Rt 67, next to the Town Hall.
There’s no need to pre-register, you may register when you arrive on the day of the event. Fishing will begin at 8:00am sharp (not 7:00 as in the past), so be sure to arrive a little bit early to get your spot by the water. Prizes will be available for various age categories up to age 13. All prizes will be awarded at 10:00am and you must be present at that time to accept your award. This event is free for all Oxford children. Parents may supervise but please be aware that this is intended to be a children’s fishing event.
Any adults seen fishing will be asked to leave. The Fishing Rodeo will take place, rain or shine. Refreshments will also be served, thanks to the generosity of the Oxford Lions Club. If more info is needed, call Oxford Parks and Recreation at (203) 888-2543, Ext 3041 or go to OxfordRec.com.
