Armed School Resource Officers Included In Oxford's Budget Plan
First Selectman George R. Temple has included funds to pay for SROs in the town's proposed budget plan for next year.

OXFORD, CT — First Selectman George R. Temple's $16.8 million proposed budget for fiscal 19-20 includes $300,000 to hire armed school resource officers, the Republican-American reports.
The overall budget plan increases spending by $501,353 or 3.1 percent. The SROs will be local police officers and the school system is also seeking nearly $200,000 to hire additional security officers, the Rep-Am reports. The security officers would be retired cops who will also be armed, the Rep-Am reports.
